A "Glorious" Football Read!

Gridiron Glory is a coming of age story featuring T.J. Ripper, a rookie quarterback trying to gain the respect of his Spartans teammates. His agent, Robert Shroud is working hard to get his agency off the ground, but has to contend with not only the players he represents, but his girlfriend Nia who is beginning to lose faith in him. Jeremy Spears, a young tech billionaire who wanted to buy a football team is the General Manager of the New Jersey Spartans at the ripe old age of 29. He not only juggles the day-to-day issues that arise from owning a football team, but he's falling in love with his girl Daisy ... which gets complicated.

Ripper, who's been in and out of trouble since he was a teenager because of the antics of his cousin Will, wants to stay on the right path, but finds himself in the middle of a love triangle. Needless to say, things begin to get crazy.

This book is a fast, fun read with diverse characters ... one that everyone can relate to!

A sports book that has it all!

Kevon Brown's "Gridiron Glory" is a fun sports novel that has it all, from action to drama to romance. The protagonist is TJ Ripper, a quarterback for the Spartans football team. Although he is talented and driven, he has his challenges that he must overcome. The plot revolves around his journey as an athlete and as a person. One of the things I love about this book is the eclectic cast of characters. As a woman who loves strong females, I was happy to see a few in this book, as well as an engaging romance subplot. Definitely would recommend this book to sports fans or anyone who wants an emotional sports story with plenty of twists and turns!

A compelling look at a season in a fictional NFL-like league

A compelling look at a season in a fictional NFL-like league. There were lotsa characters in this book that kept my interest & that I cared about. I enjoyed seeing things develop week to week which kept a nice solid stride going from the first pages to the last. As a long time football fan seeing so many behind the scenes things going on was also a fun reading experience. Looking forward to what happens with TJ Ripper's second season in the league.

Fantastic Novel

The novel was quickly paced with action, romance, and football. The characters were all really well developed and I could really feel TJ's struggle to overcome his past. I felt like I knew everyone personally and I'm a fan of the author's writing style because it flowed well bringing the story to life making it really enjoyable to read and experience. The dialogue was nicely balanced between all the characters and had me intrigued with the story from the very beginning. I'm glad I found this book and I would highly recommend it.

A Fast and Fun Moving Ride of a Book

Brown's Gridiron Glory is a fast-moving thrill ride for football lovers who also love a good book. Readers who love a great story with engaging story will be able to get into the book and relate to the characters on a non-football level while readers who are also sports fans will also get sucked into the passion and pressure of a professional football season. From start to finish, the characters and scenes are woven together in a way that fleshes out the world Brown creates while still allowing for depth in plot and character. Whether you're passing time until the next game starts, just looking for a good book, or a long-time fan of inspirational sports movies built around engaging teams and characters, you'll find something to pull you into this book.

If it sounds at all appealing, I can't recommend it highly enough. It has a little bit of everything, genre-wise, and moves so quickly that it's nearly impossible to put down.

Vivid Sports read

It's a great read for those who live in the realm of sports, especially football. While it is centered around the game of football, there is a definitive plot with very human characters at its center. Each character has a distinct voice that you get to know on a personal level throughout the book. It's a story loaded with jargon and scenarios that perfectly mirror the sports world. There were times where I felt like I was actually watching ESPN, but then stepping into the reality of the world and the people that the sportscasters were discussing. Very interesting read for someone like me who would not initially have picked up this book.

My Perception of the Game is Changed

I have always liked the way Kevon Brown develops his characters. His skill at character development is just as good as his style of unfolding his story. In one book, Gridiron Glory, Kevon creatively puts his readers in the shoes of these sportsmen, making us see what they pas through. My perception of the game will never remain the same. Because of the intrigue in this book, I join the players in my mind even as I understand and empathize with their battles.

I love this author

Once again, Kevon Brown has done it for me! I love this author! In this book, he shows us that the world of football isn't always what we think. I like the way that Brown focused on the way Shroud is trying to get his company off of the ground and help to get these players in the game that they love. From the very beginning of this book, I was drawn in by the details and the characters. The way that they relate and speak to each other is so real and true. It hits you in the right places.

Good Book

A fast fun read! I look at the game differently now when I watch them on Sundays!

Highly Recommended

I didn't realize how in depth and mentally challenging the game was until I read this. Football aside, this was just a great fiction book overall

Great

I was pulled in and couldn't stop until I figured out how the Spartans ended their season. Very good book.

This Is a Great Read

Finally a romance written for women who grew up Tom Boy's, as well as a good overall romance for readers who like romance. However that said I have to say I'm delighted to read a romance with a heroine who is more like me than my sister.

Author Kevon Brown has managed to create a book with not one but several strong female characters who play a variety of importance with in the story line but all add a sense of purpose and movement to the story.

The dialogue is in my opinion a strong part of why this book works so well it sounds real when I read it and I can also hear the characters voice. More amazing then being able to hear their voices I can see the nuances and gestures so she is spot on with the dialogue.

The story is paced out correctly and at no point did I get bored or distracted with narrative or POV changing in midair. Over all I felt like it was a well-crafted book. The characters are developed with pathos and layered in subtext the best of both worlds. Flawed characters with many dimensions to their story line. Gotta love a book that has it all.

Great Sports Fiction

I have always been a sports fan and football is one of my favorite sports to watch, talk about, and read about. This even carries through into the pages of fiction so I pre-ordered "Gridiron Glory" as the story line was one that intrigued me. The story of a fictional football league and, specifically, the New Jersey Spartans. The team has a young owner and a rookie quarterback, T.J. Ripper, with a troubled past. There are some suspenseful elements to this story which definitely make it a page-turner and the sports element is played (pun intended) very well. This was a very well-written and well executed story with great characters that I could easily relate to. Recommended.
